02:01 pm - You May Be in an Abusive Relationship...
So someone's taken the time to go over the official signs of relationship abuse and apply them to the Twilight series. You may not be surprised to find out that as of part 2, they've found 15 signs of abuse. That doesn't even cover the series when she gets beaten up when they have sex.

Here's the list.

10:43 pm - I still don't get it
Twilight is beyond me. Not only that, I kind get offended by it. Not because it's popular but because it's a terrible narrative to sell to teens and adults. Abstain yes, but not because your boyfriend is a moody arse who keeps telling you that he'll hurt/kill you or put in a situation where someone else will hurt/kill you. And don't string on a friend because you're all weepy and needy. Not cool.

11:20 pm - Reading Rainbow
I have an idea. http://tiny.cc/b0wDn Tell us about your favorite book.

YouTube is full of parodies of Reading Rainbow. That's not what I want. I want an honest to goodness book review. I'll have to figure out which books I want to do. You start thinking about it too.

Let's try for September 28th. Okay?

06:09 pm - Happenings
I've been working. A lot. I haven't had the time to just sit down and share with all of you what's been going on. To help alleviate some of the stress, I've gotten back into soccer. I haven't played for about 10 years. The first few practices were not good. I twisted my ankle and then pulled my right quadriceps. Today was our first game.

We were killed.

I don't even know all my teammates' names yet. I played decently. I could have anticipated some plays better and I was slow. Heck, the first goal was made by the girl I was supposed to be watching. Sigh. I should have been there. I'll get better. Heck, the team will get better. I predict our next game will be tens times better.

05:58 pm - Noooooooooooooo
I can't handle the news. It's just not possible. It's wrong and a crime against children. Reading Rainbow is officially canceled. It's not just in syndication, it's done. No more. NPR broke the disheartening news on Friday. I'm beside myself.

Someone got it in their head that TV should teach kids how to read. Whaaaa? That's what parents and teachers do. Reading Rainbow taught kids to love books and enjoy reading. I loved watching it. Heck, I still watch it. The kids and I would watch RR then go to the library to pick out books. It was fun.

What do we do about this?
